The different sizes of the boards indicate that all listed here are separate paintings.Watercolours:

• Farm Near Castlemaine • Gums • Trees It appears that few watercolours, prints or etchings are appearing at auctions. As the etchings and prints were variously produced in runs of 25 to 75 there must be many still held privately. His oil paintings are still trading quite strongly. Over the last few years over 130 sales either public or at auction have been recorded. The highest recorded price for a painting is $14500, while works on paper including prints and graphics have fetched up to $220. These low prices may be affected by the public knowing very little about this artist as almost no mention occurs of Victor Zelman in the current literature about Melbourne artists of this era. However small traditional landscapes in oils remain popular with buyers and this brief monogram may give them an introduction to his life and work. His etchings should also be of interest due to the growing enthusiasm for Australian print makers of the early twentieth century.Dr. Margaret Dillon, January 2016.
