New Zealand 2019

Doubtful Sound After landing in Christchurch we were with a group of 5 cars travelling to the Sound. We split from the group who were visiting both islands. Doubtful Sound had been very high on our bucket list & we weren’t disappointed.

Australia

Western Australia 2010 This is a return visit to WA. On this trip we did the Goldfields loop including many disued towns and working mines. A feature for us was Western Flora, a 160ac (65Ha) property at Eneabba. At the time the owner was working with University WA and gave an enlightening presentation and led a tour of the park.
Willandra 2006 Willandra was an early trip on our own. At this stage we just had our Toyota Camry and rented an Avan for the trip. There was some rain and entry to the National Park was a bit dodgy but we persisted and had a very enjoyable experience.
Ngarkat National Park SA After a visit to the Victorian deserts it was logical to have a look at the desert on the other side of the border, Ngarkat NP. There was a wealth of wild flowers, the Pirtendi Walking Track, Scorpions Springs and Naman Wells Walking Track.
Lawn Hill 2008 We had joined a 4wd group & met Rob & Anne. We decided to do a trip to Lawn Hill & Carpentaria country. It was a memorable trip for us, not having ventured far from Victoria. Thank you Rob & Anne for the time we shared.
Northern Flinders - Angorichina In the Northern Flinders Ranges there are a number of private 4wd tracks, the most widely known of these being Skytrek at Willow Springs. We met the Fishers of Blinman who introduced us to some other tracks, notably Angorinchina Station. This track followed a rock strewen creek bed. A lovely 4wd experience
Canning Stock Route What a trip. The Heather Highway gave a a wee look at what was to come. We travelled part of the Old Gunbarrel Highway and started the Canning at Wiluna. We took the Tallawanna Track across to Rudal River for a few days respite, visited Cotton Creek before rejoing the Canning at Georgia Bore.
The Maus Haus (Avan Cruiseliner) After years of camping it was time to lift the comfort level. We had many fun adventures in this van. Places like: Waratah Bay, Wilsons Promontory, Boolcoomatta, East & Wes Maconnell Ranges, Robe, Tarra Valley & the Grand Ridge Road, Muttaburra…. the list goes on.
Escape After Covid After years of camping it was time to lift the comfort level. We visited Sea Lake, Lake Tyrell (to photograph the lake), Pooncarie, Wentworth and Lake Mungo. We had planned to re-visit the Menindee Lakes but rain closed the road.
Denniston Denniston is an historic gold mining settlement on the west coast of New Zealand’s south island.
